Students from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) are addressing batik waste pollution by innovatively using rambutan peel waste to create adsorbents. Rambutan peels, rich in cellulose (24%) and lignin (35%), show promise for reducing environmental liquid waste sustainably. The PKM-RE team, led by Mrs. Talitha Widiatningrum, involves Biology and Chemical Engineering students, and their project has progressed through basic testing stages. This ongoing initiative aims to mitigate water pollution and offers a scalable solution for tackling batik waste issues.
