The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) announced minimum producer prices for Ghana’s 2024 mango season and 2025 cashew season, emphasizing fair compensation and sustainable growth. For second-grade mangoes, the price is GH¢ 5.00/kg, with first-grade mangoes negotiable. Cashew farmers will receive GH¢ 15.00/kg, based on a model incorporating global prices and quality factors. TCDA has diversified Ghana’s agriculture since 2020, promoting tree crops like cashew, coconut, and mango. Key achievements include distributing 5.5 million seedlings, launching a five-year strategic framework, and improving supply chain transparency through digital tools. The Authority aims to boost international competitiveness by regulating prices, licensing processors, and collaborating with the World Bank. It remains committed to supporting farmers and ensuring the industry’s sustainable, profitable future.
