Lychee yields in Kodagu have significantly dropped due to delayed monsoons and continuous rains preventing flower blooming. The harvesting season, typically from late November to early December, coincides with no other domestic lychee production, usually benefiting local growers. However, this year’s adverse weather disrupted production at the Central Horticultural Experimental Station in Chettalli and surrounding estates, disappointing fruit lovers and reducing profits. Neighboring regions like Hassan and Wayanad have also been impacted.
