Thailand uses durian peel to make animal feed

Thailand is advancing its Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) by converting agricultural waste, like durian peels, rice straw, and sugarcane residues, into animal feed. This strategy reduces waste, mitigates pollution from agricultural burning, and supports sustainable farming. Pure Plus Farm in Nakhon Sawan ferments durian peels using microbial technology, producing cost-effective, nutritious cattle feed. The fermented feed costs 1.7 THB per kilogram, cheaper than conventional feed, while offering higher protein, fat, and fiber content—boosting cattle growth and reducing environmental impact.
