LuLu Hypermarkets in Saudi Arabia have launched the Mango Mania Festival, the largest mango-themed event in the Kingdom, celebrating the beloved summer fruit. Running until May 10, the festival features over 119 mango varieties sourced from more than 12 countries. India leads with 60 varieties, while Saudi Arabia contributes 24, showcasing both global diversity and local cultivation.
Countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Yemen, Uganda, Kenya, Colombia, and Peru are also participating, making the festival a truly international affair. The event was officially inaugurated by Indian Consul General Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, who emphasized its cultural significance, especially India’s historical connection to mangoes.
Mango Mania offers more than just fruit sales — it’s a culinary and cultural celebration. LuLu’s food counters present a variety of mango-inspired dishes, including mango chicken curry, mango fish curry, stuffed chicken breasts with honey mango, aamras with puri, mango pickles, and vegan mango smoothies. The dessert offerings include mango pudding, cheesecake, mousse, and pastries.
Shehim Mohammed, director of LuLu Hypermarkets Saudi Arabia, expressed pride in supporting local agriculture by promoting Saudi-grown mangoes while providing customers with a festive, flavorful experience that highlights the fruit’s health benefits and cultural richness.
