Taiwan sees NT$257.16 million in crop damage from Typhoon Danas

Typhoon Danas caused NT$257.16 million in agricultural losses in Taiwan, severely damaging pomelos, with Tainan worst affected. Over 3,300 hectares of crops were impacted, including longan, tangerines, corn, and bananas. Pomelos suffered most, with 800 hectares affected and 400 hectares lost, valued at NT$118.4 million. Livestock losses totaled NT$2.35 million, mostly chickens, while NT$16.9 million in damage hit facilities like greenhouses and trellises. Tainan accounted for 82% of total losses. Typhoon Danas made landfall in Chiayi and exited via Taoyuan and Hsinchu, leaving over 300 injured and two dead.
