At Asia Fruit Logistica 2025 in Hong Kong, Thai fruit exporters showcased their growing global competitiveness through advanced cold chain logistics and product innovation. The focus was on maintaining farm-to-table freshness and expanding exports of both traditional and value-added fruits.
Longan has emerged as a standout performer in Europe, especially in the UK and the Netherlands, thanks to its unique flavor, extended shelf life, and health benefits. Its complementary seasonal availability and energy-rich profile have boosted demand among health-conscious consumers.
Durian remains Thailand’s top export, particularly the “Monthong” variety, which dominates the Chinese market. Exporters are now expanding distribution into northern and northeastern China, ensuring adherence to strict food safety and quality standards to sustain growth.
Thai companies are also diversifying into innovative products such as ready-to-eat durian sticky rice, which has been well received by European buyers for its rich aroma and balanced taste.
Thailand’s integrated cold chain systems—covering storage, transport, and customs clearance—have strengthened its position as a leader in tropical fruit exports. These developments underline the fruit sector’s vital role in generating agricultural revenue and demonstrate Thailand’s success in combining logistics efficiency with creative food product development for international markets.
