Indonesia is strengthening its agricultural cooperatives, highlighted by the Upland Subang Farm Producers Cooperative exporting mangosteen to China. A recent shipment of three tons brings total exports to 40 tons, demonstrating the growing role of cooperatives in expanding overseas markets.
This achievement is supported by government initiatives, including farmer training, improved processing, certification, and financing from the LPDB. Subang has emerged as a key export region, with potential to expand to additional markets such as the Middle East.
The cooperative also adopts modern technologies like drones to enhance productivity. Overall, the initiative shows how strengthened cooperatives can boost farmer incomes, improve competitiveness, and support sustainable agricultural export growth.
