Thailand is working to expand agricultural exports through discussions with South Korea on market access and trade conditions. Thai officials requested approval to export pomelo, longan, and green papaya, while Korea sought access for paprika exports to Thailand.
Both sides addressed sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) requirements and explored ways to increase trade volumes. Thailand also proposed using hot water immersion treatment as a cost-effective alternative to vapour heat treatment for mango exports, citing its successful use in EU markets.
The talks reflect ongoing efforts to reduce trade barriers, improve export efficiency, and strengthen bilateral agricultural trade between the two countries.
