Farmer grows record-breaking wax apples in Pingtung

A farmer in Pingtung, Taiwan, has gained attention for producing unusually large wax apples weighing over one kilogram. The exceptional size and quality are attributed to careful variety selection, fertilizer management, and a delayed harvest season that allowed extra growth time.
Known for Black Diamond wax apples, the farm’s oversized fruit has attracted public interest due to its sweetness, juiciness, and striking appearance. Despite the high price of around NT$1000 per fruit, the novelty and quality have drawn curiosity from consumers.
