China ready to absorb Indonesia’s increased durian produce

Indonesia plans to expand durian exports to China, with China acting as a key buyer to absorb rising production. The cooperation will begin with frozen durian exports and later shift toward fresh durians, which are more preferred by Chinese consumers.
The initiative aims to address marketing challenges as productivity increases, particularly in transmigration areas with strong production potential. In addition to durian, coconut exports are also being explored, as China faces a significant supply gap.
Overall, the partnership highlights opportunities for Indonesia to strengthen agricultural exports and better utilize its production capacity.
