Thai government moves to stabilize durian and mangosteen prices ahead of harvest surge
May 11, 2026 | Pattaya Mail |
Thailand is preparing measures to stabilize durian and mangosteen prices as harvest volumes increase in Chanthaburi province. Authorities are responding to challenges including oversupply, rising transport costs linked to Middle East conflicts, and hot weather affecting fruit size.

Additional trading yards and distribution programs are also being prepared to manage the expected surge in mangosteen supply.
Plans for a fruit processing and quality development center are being discussed to better handle excess production and strengthen long-term market management.
