India to ease import requirements for Vietnamese durian

India is preparing to ease import requirements for fresh Vietnamese durian by removing special phytosanitary conditions and additional declarations. If implemented, the change would simplify export procedures and improve Vietnam’s access to one of Asia’s largest consumer markets.

Vietnam’s durian exports have already shown strong momentum, with exports rising sharply in early 2026 as the country continues expanding markets and strengthening product branding.
