The Philippines achieved a record-high agricultural export value of USD1.029 billion in April 2026, a 33.2% increase compared with the same period in 2025. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, major export contributors included animal and vegetable fats, oils, and related products.
The Department of Agriculture (DA) attributed the growth to intensified efforts to expand international markets for Philippine agricultural products. The government has actively promoted exports of high-value commodities such as coconut, mango, pineapple, avocado, banana, pomelo, dragon fruit, rambutan, ube, coffee, and cacao. To strengthen export development, the DA established a dedicated High Value Export Crop, Agri-Fishery Export Development and Promotion Office focused on creating comprehensive export promotion programs.
The country’s agricultural trade deficit also narrowed by 34.7% year-on-year, falling to USD600.09 million in April. Recent milestones include the first commercial shipment of 18 metric tons of pineapples from South Cotabato to the United Arab Emirates and the first export of one metric ton of Zambales mangoes to Canada. These developments reflect the Philippines’ strategy to diversify export markets, increase agricultural competitiveness, and reduce reliance on imports.
