Kochi Rambutan conclave to focus on value addition and exports

July 12, 2026 | The new Indian express |

A Rambutan Conclave 2026 will be held in Kerala, India, to strengthen the rambutan industry through improved technology, value addition, branding, market development, and export opportunities. The event will bring together farmers, researchers, entrepreneurs, exporters, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to discuss strategies for sustainable sector growth.

Organizers noted that rambutan has become one of the state’s most profitable horticultural crops in recent years, attracting both established farmers and young entrepreneurs. Cultivation has expanded to around 25,000 acres across several districts, with annual production estimated at 100,000 tons and expected to double in the coming years.

The conclave will feature technical sessions on advanced cultivation methods, improved varieties, crop management, pest and disease control, post-harvest handling, and value-added products. The initiative aims to strengthen market linkages, improve profitability, and support the long-term development of Kerala’s growing rambutan industry.
