Jackfruit and dragon fruit prices in Vietnam’s Dong Thap Province have increased sharply in recent weeks due to limited supply and seasonal changes.
Red-fleshed jackfruit prices have reached their highest levels since the beginning of 2026, with Grade A fruit selling for approximately VND 75,000/kg and Grade B for VND 70,000/kg. Prices have risen by VND 60,000–70,000/kg compared with a month earlier. Thai jackfruit prices have also increased, reaching VND 39,000–42,000/kg for certain grades.
Traders attribute the increases to limited harvest volumes and strong purchasing demand from warehouses supplying the Chinese market. Some traders are offering higher prices to secure sufficient quantities for export shipments. Jackfruit supplies are expected to recover when the peak harvest season begins in approximately one month, potentially affecting prices.
Dragon fruit prices have also recovered after falling to VND 2,000–3,000/kg in late August. Red-fleshed dragon fruit now sells for approximately VND 23,000–24,000/kg for Grade 3 and VND 18,000–19,000/kg for Grade 4.
The price recovery is mainly attributed to declining supplies near the end of the harvest season. Traders expect prices to remain relatively favorable as the next harvest begins.
