Wyalla Gardens, a certified-organic tropical fruit and nut orchard in Far North Queensland, Australia, is being offered for sale after more than five decades of development by founders Kim Haskell and Anni Rigg.
Located in the Bloomfield River Valley, the 756-hectare property includes approximately 600 mature commercial mangosteen trees and has maintained organic certification for nearly 20 years. Mangosteen became its primary commercial crop because its thick rind provides protection against bruising during transportation. Other cultivated fruits include rambutan, pulasan, langsat, duku, and salak, alongside several exotic nut species.
According to the owners, a productive mangosteen season can yield up to 20,000 kg of fruit, generating approximately AUD 300,000 in gross revenue. The property includes irrigation infrastructure, packing facilities, cold storage, agricultural machinery, and residential buildings.
The estate is being marketed with opportunities for agricultural expansion and complementary activities such as ecotourism, rainforest exploration, and accommodation, subject to regulatory approvals.
The owners, both aged 76, intend to retire closer to their family and hope the new buyer will maintain the orchard's established tropical fruit production.
