Fast recognition and counting method of dragon fruit flowers and fruits based on video stream

October 13, 2023 | Sensors |

Conducted by Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia, this study delves into the genetic diversity of Durian (Durio zibethinus L.)—a fruit known for its unparalleled genetic richness. Focused on 40 superior durian accessions from Batang District, Central Java, the research utilizes 10 Inter Simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR) primers to unravel the genetic landscape. The study reveals 161 polymorphic ISSR alleles, reflecting a genetic diversity level of 0.277 (Nei's gene diversity) and 0.434 (Shannon's Information index). The accessions exhibit a broad similarity range (0.22-0.86) and form two distinct clusters. Siwatu 1 and Siwatu 2 accessions showcase the highest genetic similarity, while Butternuts and Watu Tembogo 1 accessions exhibit the lowest. The findings not only underscore the genetic richness of Batang's durians but also contribute valuable data to the catalog of Indonesia's local superior durian accessions.
