Vietnam has exported its first container of "Dien" pomelos to the UK, with additional orders received from several EU countries and the U.S. The "Dien" pomelo is the seventh fresh Vietnamese fruit authorized to enter the U.S. market, following mangoes, longans, lychees, dragon fruit, rambutans, and star apples. Vietnam has around 105,400 hectares dedicated to pomelo cultivation, producing approximately 950,000 tons annually. All Vietnamese fruits entering the U.S. market must meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP certifications, as well as adhere to strict standards for cultivation areas and packing facilities. The U.S. is Vietnam's second-largest fruit market after China. Vietnam's vegetable and rice export revenue for the first 10 months of the year reached a record $8.9 billion.
