Thailand’s agricultural exports under FTA reach 500 billion baht

In 2023, Thailand's agricultural trade reached 2.372 trillion baht ($65.2 billion), with a trade surplus of 951 billion baht. Trade with FTA countries grew by 3.25%, totaling 1.01 trillion baht. Top exports include durian, processed chicken, rubber, cassava, and frozen chicken. China remains the largest market, followed by Japan, South Korea, India, and Australia. Exports to China surged by 10.60%, led by durian, cassava crisps, and rubber. Among other FTA partners, Thailand saw export growth to New Zealand, Chile, and Peru. However, exports to Japan, South Korea, and India declined. The Secretary-General emphasized the need for improved product quality and standards to compete globally amidst economic volatility and geopolitical challenges.
