Guatemala awaits the Pest Risk Analysis outcome for Hass avocado production, which could enable U.S. exports, per the Ministry of Agriculture. The USDA's APHIS is currently accepting public comments. The MAGA ensures crop registration, inspection, and phytosanitary certification. Exporting Hass avocados to the U.S. would boost Guatemala's economy and agriculture, providing local producers with international market access. MAGA remains dedicated to meeting export requirements, aiming to export 15,500 tons to the U.S. by 2030, driven by increasing demand, according to the Guatemalan Association of Exporters.
