Govt distributes 3.4 lakh coconut saplings in Khulna

The government distributed 3,40,000 coconut saplings worth Tk 4.68 crore to 68,000 marginal farmers in Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, and Narail districts last financial year. In Khulna, 45,000 farmers received 2,25,000 saplings worth Tk 3.09 crore. In Bagerhat, 15,000 farmers received 75,000 saplings worth Tk 1.09 crore. Satkhira and Narail distributed 25,000 and 15,000 saplings worth Tk 34.38 lakh and Tk 20.63 lakh to 5,000 and 3,000 farmers, respectively. The DAE Additional Director of Khulna Region, Mohon Kumar Ghosh, emphasized the government's ongoing efforts to boost coconut farming by providing saplings and guidance to meet demand and revive the coconut tree population in southern Bangladesh.
