Bắc Giang province has seen increased lychee exports, reaching markets including the US, Japan, EU, Australia, and Canada. By June, over 24,500 tons were exported to China, with additional shipments to other countries. Domestic sales surpassed 60,900 tons, with exports accounting for over 28.9% of consumption. Despite a 50% decrease in main-season output, lychee quality is the highest ever due to advanced cultivation practices. Prices are at record highs, ranging from VNĐ25,000-85,000 per kilo. For 2024, Bắc Giang plans to export 34,000 tonnes from 17,100ha of lychee farms, focusing on markets with high demand. The province will enhance trade promotion and support export agreements to further boost its lychee industry.
