The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has launched a comprehensive five-year Strategic Plan aimed at achieving a sustainable and safe future for agriculture, forestry, and water resources. The plan includes seven goals, 32 targets, and 153 performance indicators.
Key Goals
- Sustainable Production: Enhance efficiency and quality in plant and animal production, develop aquaculture, and ensure food safety from production to consumption.
- Rural Development: Improve quality of life and economic opportunities in rural areas, focusing on family businesses, women, and youth.
- Resilience and Adaptation: Strengthen the agriculture sector’s resilience to climate change through improved disaster response, renewable energy use, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
- Resource Management: Ensure sustainable management of soil, water, and biodiversity, including enhancing protected areas and promoting efficient resource use.
- Capacity Building: Enhance the effectiveness of agricultural organizations, develop training and consultancy systems, and foster innovation through research and development.
- Digital Transformation: Upgrade information technology infrastructure to support modern agricultural practices and decision-making processes.
- International Engagement: Increase the Ministry’s involvement in global agricultural discussions and decision-making.
