The Long-term Observations of Greenhouse gases and Ozone-depleting Substances (LOGOS) Division is dedicated to long-term atmospheric measurements of gases that affect climate, ozone levels, and human health. It collects discrete samples from around the world using various instruments, ensuring data quality through traceable calibration. These measurements contribute to the NOAA Global Greenhouse Gas Reference Network (GGGRN), helping scientists understand the sources and sinks of greenhouse gases, ozone-depleting substances, and other trace gases. The division also integrates activities from the former Halocarbons and Atmospheric Trace Species (HATS) and Carbon Cycle Greenhouse Gases (CCGG) divisions.
