Taiwan National Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan to Promote Environmental Sustainability across Discplines (In Chinese)

Taiwan's Ministry of the Environment has unveiled the "National Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan," emphasizing both mitigation and adaptation, with a goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The revised plan aligns with international climate agreements and includes risk assessment, just transition, and nature-based solutions. The plan outlines strategies for climate change adaptation, focusing on improving infrastructure resilience, ensuring water resource balance, promoting sustainable land use, preventing coastal disasters, enhancing energy supply and industrial adaptation, securing agricultural production, and strengthening healthcare and epidemic prevention. It also addresses greenhouse gas reduction policies across six sectors, including zero-carbon energy systems, green industrial transformation, smart green transportation, sustainable zero-carbon buildings, promoting sustainable agriculture, and reducing environmental impact through resource circulation. The plan includes policy support for green finance, climate law, carbon pricing, research and development in key technology areas, climate science, public behavior change, talent development, and ensuring a just transition and citizen participation.
