January 02, 2024 | CNA, Taiwan

The Taiwan Ministry of Agriculture promotes the use of domestic organic fertilizer, doubling subsidies to drive a 50% increase in adoption. This initiative is expected to increase soil carbon sequestration by over 90,000 metric tons, emerging as a new method to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In response to climate change, the measure integrates sustainable production practices, utilizing poultry and livestock manure as organic fertilizer to aid in achieving the 2050 net-zero emissions target.
