Athian’s new carbon insetting marketplace revolutionizes livestock farming

Athian, in partnership with Elanco Animal Health, has launched a pioneering livestock carbon insetting marketplace, revolutionizing sustainability in agriculture. The platform allows farmers to monetize reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, particularly targeting enteric methane emissions and improving feed utilization. By selling carbon credits generated through sustainable practices, farmers can benefit economically while contributing to the environmental goals of the dairy value chain. The initiative has already seen significant uptake, with Dairy Farmers of America making the first purchase of carbon credits. This innovative approach not only supports the progress towards carbon neutrality in the U.S. dairy industry but also addresses the broader challenge of reducing emissions in animal agriculture.
