Environmental benefits flow from thematic group networking
February 19, 2024 | EU CAP network |
The European Union (EU) has introduced a new Thematic Group (TG) on Green Architecture: Designing Green Strategies, aimed at enhancing environmental and climate performance in farming, food production, and rural areas. This initiative is part of the Common Agricultural Policy's (CAP) efforts to improve sustainability through eco-schemes, agri-environment-climate schemes, and other interventions. Member States can tailor their green strategies using CAP opportunities to meet specific environmental and climate needs. The TG will provide expertise and recommendations for optimizing green strategies, focusing on intervention design, funding, and uptake. Building on previous thematic work supporting environmental protection and climate action, including biodiversity conservation and carbon farming, the TG aims to foster collaboration and innovation in sustainable agriculture. Meetings are scheduled for April and June to facilitate knowledge exchange and development of best practices.
