National Fertiliser Database (NFD) is established in accordance with the Veterinary Medicinal Products, Medicated Feed, and Fertilisers Regulations Act 2023 of Ireland, signed into law on 11 July 2023. This legeslation aims to track fertiliser sales, improve water quality and environmental compliance, support Ireland’s commitments to the European Commission, and simplify farmers’ reporting processes.

Required by law, fertiliser producers, traders, and professional users register and submit data on fertiliser sales and use to the NFD. Ireland’s commitments to the European Commission, and simplify farmers’ reporting processes.
